Callum McGregor will be OUT for the next four weeks, meaning the player will now miss of Celtic’s entire run in before the World Cup.
It’s the news Celtic fans were dreading since Wednesday night. Callum went off injured during Leipzig’s victory over the Hoops and Ange’s initial prognosis post-match sounded bleak.
The Celtic manager confirmed Callum is definitely out until the World Cup.
“Initial reports suggest that he’ll probably be out until after the break at this stage.” Ange told SunSport.
“I haven’t got the final report but he’ll miss the next three or four weeks which will put him out until after the break.”
It’s a massive blow for Celtic and Callum. The captain is the engine of the team and rives the bhoys forward. His presence on the pitch and dressing room is huge and to miss him for the next 10 games before the break is less than ideal.
We’ve just saw Celtic struggle against St Johnstone without Callum.
We need players to step up, not just players in his portion, but leaders too. If Celtic can find their rhythm for the last ten games before the World Cup. We can regroup in the winter.
We wish Callum a speedy recovery.
