Hugh Keevins has expressed deep concern over Celtic’s summer transfer business, which has so far failed to spark enthusiasm among supporters.
With Kyogo’s departure in January and Nicolas Kühn sold this week, fans were hopeful for high-profile replacements. Instead, the Hoops have been quiet, and that silence has not gone down well at Parkhead.

Keevins pointed to the €25million generated from the two sales since the start of 2025 and asked why Celtic have not used those funds to secure a player capable of improving the starting XI immediately.
Supporters are frustrated, and there’s growing questions. Fans are calling for decisive action in the window. Celtic must act swiftly to back Brendan Rodgers and reassure an anxious fanbase.
Hugh Keevins made his feelings clear: simply breaking even won’t cut it. If Celtic want to maintain momentum in both the Premiership and Europe, that £25million cannot sit in the bank, supporters demand ambition.
He said: (RecordSport), “No offence meant. None taken. That’s why I felt sympathy for the Celtic supporter who called the radio on the day it was announced a deal was about to be done to sell Nicolas Kuhn to Serie A side Como.
“Why don’t we just buy somebody terrific?
“Corporate negligence would be not re-investing the money for the betterment of the team.
“Celtic can’t afford to mis-manage this transfer window. They’re so good at it that if they fell out of the transfer window they’d go up.
“Celtic will never be allowed to forget the strange case of John McGinn. Not if I’ve got anything to do with it.
“But, they have, since the start of 2025, made £25million from the sale of Kyogo Furuhashi and Kuhn.
“And brought in two players, Benjamin Nygren and Hayato Inamura, paid for out of the sell-on clause in Jeremie Frimpong’s contract when he left Bayer Leverkusen for Liverpool.“
Keevins’ point is simple: Celtic have money to spend, but no big-name signings have come in, leaving fans unsure about the club’s direction. Nobody’s asking for money to be thrown around carelessly, supporters just want players who can lift the team right away.

With league and European targets ahead, Celtic can’t afford to sit still. Brendan Rodgers will be counting on players who are ready to go straight into his team, not ones who need time to settle.
Nygren and Inamura might prove smart bets for the future. But for fans wanting players who can make a difference right now, the window has been disappointing so far.
If Celtic listen to Keevins’ warning, they’ll act before the window shuts. If not, this might go down as the summer where the club stalled and the support was left frustrated.
