‘Build on Past Success’ – Brendan Rodgers Issues Powerful Celtic Cup Final Message

Brendan Rodgers watched his side secure a brilliant 3-1 win over Hibernian at Celtic Park this afternoon, maintaining their momentum ahead of the Scottish Cup final.

With the Premiership title already clinched, some might have expected a drop in intensity, but the Hoops showed no signs of letting up as they delivered another commanding performance in front of a full house.

Nicolas Kühn opened the scoring for Celtic with a well-taken strike, continuing his strong form in recent weeks. The German winger has looked back to his best and provided the breakthrough for the Hoops with a composed finish to level the game. Adam Idah then scored just before half-time, reacting sharply inside the box to fire home.

The Irish striker has proven his worth with important goals throughout the campaign and added another to his tally as he continues to play a key role in Celtic’s attack.

Celtic took control again after the break. Reo Hatate made it 3-1 with a sharp low finish after a tidy move. His impressive form has been a big boost for Rodgers ahead of the Hampden final, with reports linking the midfielder with a move to Serie A.

Speaking after the match, Rodgers said: (BBC Sport), “We stayed calm. My big message was about building on our recent success because that’s what the club is all about.

“We want to go into the Scottish Cup final in a really good way. For that we need to work.”

Despite having already secured the title, Celtic have shown no signs of easing up. The squad’s hunger is still clear, with their attention now on the trip to Pittodrie to face Aberdeen before wrapping up the league season at home to St Mirren. After that, all focus shifts to Hampden and one last chance to lift silverware.
