Buckie Boss Reveals Classy Brendan Rodgers Gesture After Scottish Cup Tie

Celtic defeated Highland League side Buckie Thistle by five goals to nil in the Scottish Cup on Sunday. Said victory secured the Hoops’ place in the last sixteen of the competition.

Goals came courtesy of Paulo Bernardo, Odin Holm, Kyogo, Luis Palma, and Rocco Vata. The result was in no way a surprise, with the holders dominating proceedings.

Buckie didn’t seem to get a look in throughout, but they undoubtedly did themselves proud. Several Scottish Premiership sides have come to Parkhead and left with heavier losses.

After the action came to an end, there was a sea of shirt swaps taking place. The visiting players then went to applaud the impressive travelling support before heading up the tunnel and into the changing room.

There, they received a special visit from Brendan Rodgers. Buckie boss Graeme Stewart was full of praise for his opposite number, who couldn’t have been any classier.

It was a moment the Highlanders will remember for the rest of their lives: “I was delighted when Brendan Rodgers came into our changing room after the game”, he said (Clyde 1).

“He was class, he was a class act. He did a wee speech and said he was delighted with our attitude. They (Celtic) gave us so much respect which is good. They took it serious, that was good.”
