Brown Not at his Best says Former Celtic Champions League Hero

Forrmer Celtic striker and Champions League hero Scott McDonald fears for the Celtic skipper after his lethargic start to the season.

Speaking to BBC Sport he Australian who famously scored a last minute winner against Milan picked his former team-mate out as someone who has struggled since coming back for pre-season.

“I don’t think it’s been the best start to the season for Scott Brown. We haven’t seen the high energy levels from the Scott Brown we know,” he told the BBC

The Celtic captain has set such a high standard over the past two years some people will notice if that dips.

Brown has not been bad since coming back but there’s a notable tiredness to his play at the moment.

This could simply be a symptom of the team as a whole.

What you always get from Brown though, is even if he looks off his game on the ball he will be be his menacing best off it.

The Celtic captain is still the ball winner Celtic need but there will be limits to what he can do and the games he can play the older he gets.

Right now there’s is nobody to replace Scott when he does need a break.

Much like Izzy coming in to support Tierney, surely we need to protect Broony. Kouassi was brought in for that job but it seems the manager doesn’t trust him.
