Brentford Put Howe on Brink of Celtic Appointment

AFC Bournemouth has this afternoon been eliminated from the English Championship play-offs, losing 3-2 on aggregate to Brentford.

If reports are to be believed this could have a big impact on Celtic’s managerial appointment process.

During the week, the Daily Record reported that the hold up in the appointment of Eddie Howe was to do with his current contract and financial agreement which came to an end once Bournemouth’s season had finished.

With this defeat bringing their season to a close, this also could allow the club to swoop in and secure three of his staff who are currently at the Cherries – Richard Hughes, Stephen Purches and Simon Weatherstone.

In a weird twist of fate, last summer’s transfer target Ivan Toney, which was seen as a missed opportunity by some, scored the first of three Brentford goals which sent them into the Play-off finals.

Fans have been waiting weeks for any sort of news on an official announcement. Fingers crossed with this result this afternoon, we are getting closer to seeing Howe become the next permanent manager of the club.
