Brendan Rodgers – Why I Called Post Match Huddle

BRENDAN RODGERS revealed why he called a post-match huddle at the end of their disappointing defeat to Hearts.

The Irishman brought all his players together after the defeat and spoke to them all. Most of the Celtic fans appreciated the unity and togetherness it showed in the face of a bad defeat.

The Celtic manager gave the players a hard truth on the day.

“I wanted to pull the players together and let them be aware that they were better than us today and we have to accept that.

“What they have done is absolutely amazing but to use this feeling that they haven’t felt for 18 months, use it as a lever moving forward and let’s learn from it.

“We made too many mistakes in the game to get anything out of it. Defensively we struggled. Hearts played a direct game which is fine and we failed to cope with Lafferty in the first period.”

The Celtic gaffer then walked with his team to the traveling support who were obviously disappointed but the fans applauded the run which had just come to an end.

A run we are all unlikely to see beaten in our lifetime.
