BRENDAN RODGERS yesterday spoke about the need for Celtic to finally have stability at the back and it’s something he will look to rectify in January.
The Irishman has had to chop and change his backline since the start of the season to facilitate different injuries that seem to be happing on an overly regular basis. Bringing in young players and moving fullbacks and midfielders out of their natural positions to help plug the gap.
When asked about the current situation with Jozo Simunovic now missing the Celtic manager was keen to stress the need for a strong centre-back pairing.
It’s definitely an area I need to look at now, centre-half is a position where you need stability,”
“It’s been unfortunate for us we haven’t had that.
“It hasn’t just been one player who’s been affected, it’s been two and sometimes three at a time who have been out. It’s unfortunate, but we have to make do, and we’ll see what January brings.”
