Brendan Rodgers To Continue Classy Celtic Pre-Match Tradition

Celtic welcome Ross County to Glasgow’s east end on Saturday for yet another Flag Day. The Bhoys will be aiming to get their 2023/24 season off to the ideal start against the Highlanders.

Before this and indeed each home game the Hoops play, there are a number of traditions that are carried out, one of which is set to be continued by returning gaffer Brendan Rodgers. In 2016 when he initially came to Celtic, he was the first football manager in the UK to provide an audio recording of his matchday programme notes to his team’s visually impaired supporters.

This is a custom that carried on when the Irishman departed the club and it is set to continue now that he is back, starting against Ross County this weekend. The audio kicks off a matchday for the club’s visually impaired fans and it has proved a massive success within the group.

It is classy that Celtic and each gaffer has kept on with this custom over the years as it undoubtedly adds to the experience for each visually impaired fan when they attend a match. As the years go on, hopefully the tradition continues and keeps on adding something special to each game for the club’s visually impaired fans.
