Brendan Rodgers Tips Future Celtic Manager

BRENDAN RODGERS believes Scott Brown will return to Parkhead one day, most likely as manager once he gets his teeth into the other side of the game at Aberdeen.

Brown has been readying himself for the sort of opportunity he’s about to get at Aberdeen.

Over the past four years, the Celtic captain has taken a keen interest in the youth setup at the club and has always been a dominant force in the dressing room

Many were surprised to hear Scott signed a two-year deal with Aberdeen when he did. So many assumed he would retire at Celtic and perhaps become a coach behind the scenes.

However, Stephen Glass gave him an interesting proposition which will see Broony come up against Celtic next term which will be surreal.

Speaking about his former captain, Brendan Rodgers is certain Brown will be back at Celtic one day, occupying the same position the Irishman once held.

“There’s no doubt that Scott has the capacity to go back to Celtic one day and be manager of the club. He clearly wants to learn the ropes as a coach.” Rodgers told RecordSport.

“It’s difficult to jump straight into management. He’ll go with Stephen at Aberdeen and together, they’ll learn about coaching. He’s going to a very good club.

“If he shows that same hunger and dedication that he had as a player, as a coach, he’ll be successful.

“If he can transfer the influence he has as a player on to his coaching, there’s definitely a pathway for Scott to go back and manage Celtic. He’s absolutely loved there.”

There’s every chance Brown could be back at the club one day but it is vital it’s on his own merits. By doing the business away from Celtic Park, that job will be their for him in the future.
