Matt O’Riley’s remarkable performance was the talk of the town as he delivered the vital goal for Celtic in their face-off against Motherwell, securing a dramatic victory in the last moments of the game.

Brendan Rodgers revealed that he was ‘delighted’ for him, especially with the goal coming from his weaker foot.
The gaffer also praised the board for their hard work in tying players, like O’Riley, down to new contracts.
Speaking to the media after the match, he said: [The Celtic Way]
“Aye, it was on his right side as well. It was coming in and it was a big chance and it is an incredible finish with his right foot just off that near post.
“I am delighted for him and I am delighted for the board because they have put in so much hard work in over the last few months in the re-signing of some of our top players. Reo [Hatate] last night and Matt today and a lot of work goes into that. It also shows that the players are really convinced to continue their development at Celtic.”
O’Riley now has five goals to his name this season, surpassing the four that he netted last term in 52 games, where it took him until February to find the back of the net.
He’s been in superb form this season, and his new contract is undoubtedly a massive boost for the team. The bid of £10 million that Celtic turned down in the summer has the potential to be insulting in a few months’ time.
