Brendan Rodgers and his Celtic team made a significant impression in their latest pre-season friendly, securing a 4-3 victory over Manchester City.

This performance has drawn considerable praise from former Manchester City player Joleon Lescott admitted Celtic’s superiority during the match.
During the game, new signing Kasper Schmeichel made his debut, and Nicolas Kuhn delivered a remarkable performance, scoring twice and helping Celtic establish a 3-1 lead by halftime. He also set up Kyogo with a world-class pass. Luis Palma further solidified Celtic’s commanding display.
Reflecting on Manchester City’s showing, Lescott acknowledged that the younger players in Pep Guardiola’s squad could learn a great deal from such encounters.
Speaking to Man City TV, Lescott commented on the value of the experience, particularly for the development of the younger team members: “It’s not about them doing well it’s about them learning and you sometimes learn more from bad experiences.
“So that’s important the fact that they’ve been able to experience different players and for a lot of them this will be the highest level of competitive opponent that they have faced.
“Whether it’s pace, tactical ability or the understanding of the game, they wouldn’t have experienced all them components in one game so far. So it’s a massive learning curve and hopefully something then they’ll cherish and realise there’s still a long way to go for them as individuals.”
Celtic looked really good. They were sharp and played with intensity. They have just one friendly left, against Chelsea, before they start their league campaign against Kilmarnock on the first weekend in August.
