Celtic have had a season plagued by injuries, with Reo Hatate and Cameron Carter-Vickers playing their first Glasgow Derbies of the Brendan Rodgers era at the weekend.

The recent returns of Reo Hatate, Callum McGregor, and Cameron Carter-Vickers have bolstered Celtic’s lineup at a crucial time, while newcomers Adam Idah and Nicolas Kuhn are also finding their stride.

Notably, Reo Hatate’s return from injury has been a key factor in Celtic’s performances over the past few games.

After playing in a bounce game during the international break, Hatate made a notable competitive return against Livingston and continued his strong performance at Ibrox.

Rodgers stressed Hatate’s impact, saying to Celtic TV, “It’s massive for us.

“It’s difficult for Reo because in the summer he just came back in and was trying to gain fitness. He wasn’t quite at his level and what we expected.

“He’s been injured a lot of the season, but I’ve seen his work and mentality in wanting to get back and I just think there’s absolutely no doubt that when he’s in the team, he adds that extra dimension to the game.

“He allows you to progress the game and move forward, he’s creative and in that period that he was on, he gave us real authority in the middle of the pitch.

“He’s only going to get fitter and stronger and that’s only going to benefit the team.”

As Celtic prepares for their upcoming match against St Mirren, the squad’s improving fitness could be the key to overcoming the challenges of the final league stretch.

The focus is clear: to maintain control of their destiny and clinch the title with a flawless run in the remaining fixtures.
