Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers didn’t miss the chance to take a subtle dig at city rivals Rangers when speaking post-match after sealing the Scottish Premiership title.
The Irishman has faced a media storm this season, with some even questioning if he would be at Celtic next season.
He took his chance to have yet another dig at those who criticised him and his players.
Rodgers said: [Sky Sports], “They’re not out there making daft comments… they do their work and they keep believing.”
Rodgers clearly sees comments across the city from players on what they are going to do, and football is a game where talking is ultimately done on the pitch, not through Instagram stories like some Rangers players have looked to do over the past year.
The Celtic manager waits to do his talking after trophies are won, and that says a lot about the class he brings to the club.
He was uncharacteristically quiet at stages this season, but that was clearly with an eye to the future, waiting for the perfect moment to speak after winning the league title.
