Celtic returned to winning ways at Parkhead on Saturday afternoon. Goals from Kyogo and Liam Scales ensured all three points stayed in Glasgow’s east end and that Livingston came away with nothing.
It was an encouraging display from the champions, but manager Brendan Rodgers admitted that things felt weird when his side were on a losing streak: “It felt strange as a Celtic manager to be in that position”, he said (BBC Sportsound via Daily Record). “But you have to respond and you can do your talking on the pitch, and I thought the players did that really well today.”

Before the weekend’s match, the Celtic players were heavily criticised by many for their prior performances. They put that behind them, though, and responded well versus the Lions.
The intensity of their play was much greater than against Hearts, and the Hoops created several opportunities to score. The final 2-0 scoreline was perhaps an unfair reflection of how things went because the home side utterly dominated the match.
Livingston failed to have a shot on goal throughout the entirety of the game and remained camped inside their half. This certainly contributed towards the Celts’ dominance, but nothing should be taken away from the victory and performance that provided a huge note of encouragement going forward.
