Brendan Rodgers Still To Make His Mind Up Over Ange Postecoglou Signing

Liam Scales played at centre-back for Celtic on Saturday as the Bhoys drew 1-1 with English Premier League outfit Wolves in Dublin. The Bhoys’ performance warranted a win, although a dubious late penalty robbed them of such a result.

It was a productive workout nonetheless and after the match, Brendan Rodgers took the chance to speak to the media. The 50-year-old gave updates on the status’ of a few injured stars, such as Carl Starfelt and Maik Nawrocki. Rodgers also spoke about the future of Scales. He said (The Scottish Sun): “I would think Aberdeen are keen to have him back. I’ve obviously had a couple of conversations with Barry [Robson]. But we’re in no rush, I’ll just assess it and see where it is. We’ll take it from there.”

It appears that the double treble winning Hoops boss is still considering whether or not Scales will be a part of his plans.

If Rodgers had made up his mind already, the defender would likely be in the granite city. This is not the case, and after the Wolves match, the 24-year-old was heavily praised by his boss. Rodgers said: “Liam’s excellent, and I really like him. He’s an intelligent boy.”

There is over a month left of the summer transfer window for Rodgers to make up his mind about Scales. At the minute, the defender is in favour due to injury and availability and, granted, he isn’t doing too bad. On Tuesday evening, seeing if he gets the nod again amid new signing Maik Nawrocki’s likely return from injury will be intriguing.
