Ahead of Celtic’s Champions League match tonight against RB Leipzig, manager Brendan Rodgers has urged fans to avoid bringing pyrotechnics or fireworks into Celtic Park, as the club is currently serving a suspended one-game away fan ban.

UEFA has intensified its stance on pyrotechnics, and with Celtic already facing the possibility of further sanctions for next month’s away fixture against Dinamo Zagreb, Rodgers is keen to protect the club from potential penalties.
Celtic were handed a €20,000 and a suspended away fan ban for their use of pyro in Germany, when Celtic faced Borussia Dortmund in October.
When asked specifically about his message to Celtic’s North Curve supporters, Rodgers was clear via Celtic TV: “I think it’s just exactly what was said before—it’s not something that we really want to see. There is that sanction hanging over the club and we really don’t want that.”
Celtic are aiming to add to their four points so far, knowing that 10 is the magic number for qualification to the knockout phase. Rodgers is keen for the focus to remain on supporting the team without risking further UEFA sanctions.
The Germans are looking to earn their first points of the Champions League campaign after three tough losses, but they have faced tough opponents.
Hopefully, Celtic can get through tonight without the use of pyro and fireworks, with the fans fully behind the team for what will be another tough match in the Champions League.
