It wasn’t the greatest opening day performance from Celtic but a 4-2 victory over Ross County was enough to get Brendan Rodgers’ second spell as Hoops’ gaffer up and running. Trio David Turnbull, Kyogo and Matt O’Riley were on the scoresheet for the Bhoys.
After the match, Rodgers praised his side for their display but admitted nothing is ‘perfect’ at the start of the season and that there is room for improvement. He said: “It’s never going to be perfect in the first game but what is important is to win and when we played we had some great moments with the ball. But collectively we’ll get better.”

Rustiness is common at the beginning of the season for any team and Celtic are no different. The Bhoys wiped off the cobwebs this afternoon and will only improve going forward.
Next week will pose a totally different challenge as the Bhoys travel to Pittodrie. Rodgers will hope his men can get sharper and have more moments of magic.
