With the expected return of Brendan Rodgers to Celtic Park, a key figure from his previous tenure, Chris Davies, will be missing from the Celtic backroom.
Davies, a key collaborator during Rodgers’ invincible treble and double treble reign at Celtic, has chosen to tread his own path, accepting a position under former Celtic boss, Ange Postecoglou, at Tottenham Hotspur [Telegraph]
The news surfaces amidst the speculation about the future of John Kennedy at Celtic. This latest development strongly suggests that Kennedy, the long-serving stalwart of Celtic Park, is likely to stay put, continuing his service to the club he loves.
Davies, who followed Rodgers to Leicester City after their triumphant spell in Glasgow, was reportedly in line for his maiden managerial role at Swansea.

However, he has instead opted to join the backroom staff at Spurs, indicating his preference to further his coaching credentials under the tutelage of Postecoglou. This move, while somewhat surprising, is by no means a downgrade; Spurs provide a fertile ground for Davies to cultivate his coaching skills at the highest level of English football.
During Rodgers’ tenure, Davies was instrumental in shaping Celtic’s style of play, contributing to the club’s dominance on the domestic front.
Postecoglou, who officially starts his role as head coach at Tottenham on July 1, is expected to have his backroom staff confirmed by then, including the addition of Davies.
It looks like an assistant swap! Ange taking Brendan’s assistant and Brendan taking Ange’s assistant for the past two years.
