Brendan Rodgers Reveals Majorca Meet-up With Celtic Legend

Brendan Rodgers is set for a reunion with his former Celtic captain Scott Brown, but this time they’ll be on opposite sides of the dugout. Celtic are travelling to Ayr on Friday for their pre-season friendly of the 24/25 season against Brown’s team.

In a recent interview with Celtic TV, Rodgers shared that he had already caught up with Brown earlier this summer. “I’ve actually seen him over the course of the summer. I bumped into him in Majorca and invited him round to my house,” Rodgers revealed. “So we had a nice few hours talking about Celtic, football and management. It was great to see him and I look forward to seeing him again.”

The respect between the two is evident, with Rodgers praising Brown’s potential as a manager. “If he’s anywhere near a manager that he was a player, then he’s going to be a fantastic manager,” Rodgers said. “But these are the early steps of Scott’s career and he’s still in that process of learning. But he’s so much to bring to the game as a manager, I feel. I always enjoy seeing him and obviously now, even though it’s a pre-season game, it’ll always be nice to be on the touchline with him.”

Brown, who captained Celtic during Rodgers’ first tenure, led the team to unprecedented success, including an invincible treble and a double treble. Their time together at Celtic Park left a lasting impact, and it’s clear the mutual admiration remains strong.

After a double winning campaign last time around, it’s back to business and it all begins again on Friday as the Celts go for 55. 😝
