Taylor, who has been with Celtic since 2019, finds himself as the sole senior left-back at the club currently, with Bernabei out on loan in Brazil. His contract is set to expire in the summer of 2025.

The discussion of Taylor’s future comes after Celtic announced a four-year contract extension for Liam Scales on Friday morning. Rodgers, when asked about Taylor’s situation, voiced strong support for retaining the defender.

“I’d love to keep Greg here. It’s something that we’ve spoken about,” Rodgers stated on Celtic TV.

“It’s up to the club and the agent to try and resolve. In the meantime, his focus is on us and the team. I really like him as a person, he’s very hungry and committed. He’s sacrificed a lot and he’s very professional. That’s the type of people that you want here. Hopefully, that can be something that is resolved”

The manager’s comments reflect a clear desire to see Taylor’s contract situation resolved favourably, ensuring that he remains a part of Celtic’s plans moving forward. As negotiations continue in the background, Taylor’s role within the team remains crucial.

With just four games left of the league season, you can count on Greg Taylor to give it his all as Celtic look to defend their Champions status while looking to retain the Scottish Cup.
