Brendan Rodgers Responds to Parkhead Transfer Speculation

BRENDAN RODGERS has told Celtic fans there is absolutely nothing in the rumours which surfaced this morning linking his captain with a move away from the club.

Reports from Australia suggested that potential new club Western Melbourne who are fighting it out to be one of the two new clubs entering the A-League were eyeing Brown as a marquee signing.

However, when asked about the future of Scott Brown the Celtic manager was very relaxed and made it clear that so was Scott.

“It’s all speculation and gossip so nothing really to say on it.

“He’s had initial discussions with the club, he’s very happy very content at the club. Scott’s in great form and has been brilliant in his play and leadership over these last two seasons.

“It’s very relaxed, he’s got a good relationship with the club and he’s been here a long time and he knows the importance he has here at Celtic.”

Brown’s contract is up at the end of this season but he’s expected to sign a new deal in due course.

The Celtic captain has been signing contract extensions for the past few years and still believes he has a lot more to give on the pitch before hanging up his boots.
