Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has had time to take a step back and reflect on the derby which took place four days ago now.

He’s highlighted the resilience and tenacity displayed by his team under challenging circumstances.

The game, while not yielding the full three points, still leaves Celtic with their title aspirations firmly in their own hands. Achieving maximum points from the season’s remaining six matches would clinch the Scottish Premiership title for Celtic for the 54th time.

Rodgers acknowledged that one or two decisions went against Celtic in the second half, but was still pleased with the performance overall.

Reflecting on the Glasgow derby, Rodgers expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance, particularly in the first half. Despite facing setbacks, he praised his players for demonstrating considerable spirit and resilience, especially given the intense atmosphere at Ibrox.

He told Celtic TV: “I think time obviously gives you the chance to reflect on it even more and I think now the calmness has set in.

“I’m really pleased with how we went about our work, the integrity and honesty of the players on the field.

“They produced a great first-half performance. One or two things went against us in the second-half but we showed a great fight, a great heart and a great spirit to get a result at the end of it in a real hostile environment.

“The players came through it really, really well. We left that game in a really good position still, and that’s all we really could have asked for.”
