Brendan Rodgers has confidently asserted that Celtic would rank within the top six of the English Premier League if they were given the opportunity to compete in one of football’s most lucrative leagues.

The ongoing discussion about how Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers would perform against Premier League teams resurfaced, with Rodgers asked for his thoughts on the matter.
During an interview with talkSPORT, Rodgers highlighted the financial challenges Celtic faces in the Scottish Premiership and how participation in the Premier League could significantly alter the club’s financial landscape.
Alan Brazil asked Rodgers about the “peanuts” Celtic receive for winning the Scottish league in comparison to newly promoted Premier League clubs.
“Well that’s why the league was so important for us this year, especially with the new Champions League format being more financially rewarding than ever before, because it’s the best opportunity the club can get to make substantial funds.
“Celtic and Rangers, and obviously I can only talk from a Celtic perspective, is an absolutely massive club worldwide. There’s no doubt if Celtic was in the Premier League it would be up there, minimum, in that top six bracket.
“It’s absolutely incredible. Wherever you go in the world, you will meet Celtic supporters. The fan base, the history of the club, that’s what makes it a truly, truly massive club.
Co-host Gabby humorously suggested that Celtic might even need to consider expanding their stadium to accommodate a larger fan base, with the club selling out already in the SPFL.
These debates about heading to the Premier League will never go away, but will also likely never happen.
