CELTIC manager Brendan Rodgers has voiced his concerns regarding several VAR decisions that negated potential goals for his team.

The controversy began when Hyeon-gyu Oh was deemed to have committed a foul prior to Liam Scales netting what many thought was the opener for Celtic. The decision to disallow the goal was met with a mixture of confusion and frustration by the Celtic side.
The contentious calls continued when Hyeon-gyu Oh himself appeared to have scored, only for the goal to be retracted after teammate Maeda was adjudicated offside by the VAR. However, scrutiny arose at halftime as replays suggested the ball had already left Bernardo’s foot before Maeda was in an offside position, casting doubt over the accuracy of the VAR decision.
This moment has been widely debated, with fans and pundits alike questioning the validity of the call. The incident has added fuel to ongoing discussions about the efficacy and implementation of VAR technology in crucial game-changing moments.
“We had some goals disallowed, which I’ll need to look at again, especially the offside,” Rodgers remarked live on Sky Sports. “And even the one before that, earlier on, we’ve got two guys jumping for the ball, the ball lands, we finish, and it’s given as no goal. I didn’t see that as a good decision.”
Despite the disputed calls, Celtic managed to seal a comfortable win.
