CELTIC manager Brendan Rodgers is optimistic about the return of Liel Abada and Stephen Welsh for the festive period.

Liel Abada suffered an unfortunate setback during the last international break. The incident occurred during a routine shooting drill, where Abada pulled up, immediately signalling discomfort. The nature and timing of the injury were particularly disheartening, given the player’s form and importance to the team.
Stephen Welsh’s situation was equally poignant. The promising defender’s injury came on the very day his new contract with the club was announced. The training ground incident has kept him out of action when he most likely would’ve been part of Celtic’s backline given the other injuries.
However, in a recent chat with Celtic TV, Rodgers provided a glimmer of hope. “We only have Stephen Welsh and Liel Abada who will hopefully be back in December time,” he said. “Thankfully that’s starting to ease off and we’re starting to get numbers back in what’s going to be a busy part of the season.”
The return of both players will undoubtedly be a significant boost for Celtic. With a packed fixture list in December having a full-strength squad will be paramount.
As December approaches, Celtic fans will be hoping that Abada and Welsh can hit the ground running and contribute to what they hope will be a successful winter campaign.
