CELTIC manager Brendan Rodgers has provided an update on the status of defender Cameron Carter-Vickers, who recently returned from injury.

The player had surgery at the end of last season and managed to play the first half of the match on Tuesday.
Rodgers reported that both Carter-Vickers and Anthony Ralston had progressed well following their injuries and were back in training with the squad. However, he acknowledged that the two were not as up to speed as the rest of the team.
He said via Celtic TV, “Both those players [Carter-Vickers and Ralston] came through really well during the week, which is great news for us. They’re back with the squad, they probably aren’t as up to speed as what some of the other boys are, but they’re still looking in very good condition.”
The manager further added, “We’ll just take a look at them tomorrow. Apart from that, just the guys that have been out for a little bit of time are still a little bit off, but hopefully, over the course of the next three to four weeks, some more will return.”
This is good news for Celtic fans, as the return of these key players could boost the team’s performance as the season progresses. New signing Marco Tilio is still out injured, as are Mikey Johnston and Alistair Johnston.
Fans saw on Tuesday night just how crucial Carter-Vickers is to the Celtic side, making some top-class blocks and challenges against Athletic Club Bilbao. He would’ve been a big miss for the side had he been out for the first few games of the season, with a few tough away days to negotiate.
