Brendan Rodgers Praises Green Brigade

Celtic returned to winning ways against Livingston on Saturday afternoon courtesy of goals from Kyogo Furuhashi and Liam Scales. It was a much-needed victory for the Hoops after back-to-back league losses for the first time since 2013.

The game marked a long-awaited return for the Ultras group the Green Brigade. After the game, Brendan Rodgers praised the atmosphere they brought: “Of course that section of the ground (North Curve) produces a great atmosphere for us”, he said (Sky Sports). “I think it helped everyone else so there was a much greater ambiance in the ground for sure.”

There is no doubt the noise levels were cranked up inside Parkhead because of the return of the outspoken fan group. They catalysed several chants and brought an atmosphere that was perhaps missing in previous matches.

Their presence seemed to provide the players and overall support with an added boost as things seemed much more intense against Livi. Rodgers noticed such a change, and having the Green Brigade back in ahead of what is shaping up to be a crucial title race only bodes well, if they toe the line.

Particularly in next weekend’s Glasgow derby, the group will bring the noise and look to kickstart an intimidating atmosphere for the opposition, but one that backs The Bhoys and sets them on their way to what is hopefully, from a Celtic point of view, a key win.
