Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers made sure to salute Hoops skipper and goal scorer Callum McGregor after the win over Dundee at Celtic Park this afternoon.
With McGregor getting the Hoops off the mark with the first goal of the game, the Celtic captain was unlucky not to add a second in the first half.

McGregor looked lively for much of the match, showing why this season has been an so special for him. Like so many players in the squad, he has elevated his level under Rodgers over the last six months.
Rodgers highlighted the role McGregor played this afternoon, not only this season, with Celtic already having won the Premier Sports Cup and now sitting 16 points clear at the top of the Premiership.
Rodgers said: (BBC Scotland), “I thought we were excellent today off the back of a tough physical game in the midweek. The level of the game and the quality of the goals was outstanding.
“[Callum McGregor] is such a big tactical reference for the team. He sits in there and controls the game. Overall, he was excellent.
McGregor does receive unnecessary criticism at times for being too simplistic in his decision-making in European games, but that vastly underrates the quality of the players he’s up against and the lack of mistakes he makes when facing Europe’s elite.
With 8 goals in 39 games this season, McGregor has upped his attacking threat from the holding midfield role, and questions over the effect he has are simply invalid.
McGregor will go down as one of the all-time greats for Celtic, having had massive shoes to fill when taking over from Scott Brown as Celtic captain in 2021.
He has consistently added to his already considerable Hoops legacy, and if he can play a part in a win over Bayern on Tuesday at the Allianz, it would be up there with his greatest achievements in the green and white hoops.
