Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has indicated his desire for further squad strengthening in the upcoming January transfer window, following a summer of mixed success with new signings.

While the club welcomed nine new players during the summer, few have established themselves as regular starters, leading Rodgers to look ahead for additional reinforcements.

Rodgers, when questioned about his satisfaction with the summer transfer activity, redirected the conversation. He emphasised that many of the recent arrivals were viewed as long-term projects rather than immediate solutions.

He expressed his hope that one day they could turn into good Celtic players, but at the moment, Brendan Rodgers is looking to pick up quality in the January window to improve the squad.

Speaking at the press conference, attended by CeltsAreHere, the manager said, “I don’t need to look back at the players who were signed.

“They’re in here, they’re players that may not be for now, they might be players that down the line become really good players for Celtic.

“You know, when you come into a club like Celtic at 20 years of age, it can be a real challenge in the adaption, and if you’re coming from another country, it can be tough.

“But those guys have signed long contracts, some of them, and hopefully in that time they can show that they can be Celtic players.

“Looking forward, of course, we want to improve the squad, and I think we’ll do that with players that are coming back, that can prove influential for us, and hopefully, if there’s the right players available, we can look to improve. The key is that we would like to.”

The manager has repeatedly talked about wanting to bring ‘quality’ and ‘experience’ to the squad. The January window is a tough one to work in, but it’s going to need to be a strong one that delivers what Brendan and the fans are expecting.
