There are currently a number of players out on loan from Celtic who are excelling. It will be hoped many of those can come back to Parkhead and challenge for a place in the first team.
Indeed manager Brendan Rodgers thinks giving players a temporary spell away from the club can be useful. He said (Football Scotland): “Sometimes at the big clubs, they need a career away from the club before they have a career in there. The likes of Brighton signed players who have a career away and then they come back in and have their career there.”

Brighton undoubtedly has a top-class model. The Seagulls have countless players whose resell value is of an optimum price.
Celtic and other teams will strive to be like them, and Rodgers singled out a few players currently out on loan from Celtic who are succeeding: “One or two have trained with us. We have a few out on loan as well to give them that exposure. Matt Anderson at Admira Wacker is doing very well. Bosun Lawell is down at Fleetwood. They are getting games. Ben [McPherson] at Queen’s Park, a good place for him to go.”
Next summer, these youngsters will aim to come back to Parkhead and challenge. They are getting invaluable experience under their belts, and it will be intriguing to see how their Celtic careers transpire from here, particularly after Rodgers name-checked them.
