Brendan Rodgers has insisted that Celtic’s remarkable domestic dominance over the past 14 seasons is no easy feat, as his side stand on the brink of another Scottish Premiership title.

The Hoops boss was speaking ahead of this weekend’s trip to Tannadice, where avoiding defeat against Dundee United will be enough to seal a fourth successive league championship and the 13th in the last 14 years.
While some may downplay the challenge of maintaining Celtic’s place at the top of the Scottish game, Rodgers was quick to stress the levels of commitment and focus required to sustain such a run of success.
“Well, I think people will say it’s easy and think it’s easy, but it really isn’t,” he told Sky Sports.
“There’s a huge sacrifice that goes into being that consistent. We’ve seen it so many times with teams, you can play some good games and then switch off and it doesn’t quite materialise for you.
“But this is a team and a club that isn’t content. We want to maintain a standard of performance on and off the pitch, which is worthy of the club and the supporters.
“So, for us, we still have work to do. And even at that, we’ve set targets for the last five games of the season to finish this season in the very best way that we can.”
Celtic are also in pursuit of a domestic treble, having already secured the League Cup and booked their place in the Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen next month.
If they do get that win over Aberdeen, it will be Brendan Rodgers’ third treble while in the Celtic dugout, Celtic’s 6th since the manager first arrived – quite the feat. Ange Postecoglou oversaw Celtic lift their record 8th treble, but Brendan Rodgers is looking to make that nine, after his League and Scottish Cup double last season.
In the run to the final of the Scottish Cup last season, Brendan Rodgers’ side needed penalties to beat Aberdeen in the semi final at Hampden Park.
