Brendan Rodgers Included in Major Celtic Partnership Meeting

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is said to have met with delegates of the Hoops’ new feeder club, Admira Wacker, last week (Sunday Herald). The partnership has been existent for a few months, but it could be expanded.

A delegation of representatives from the Modling-based team linked up with Rodgers prior to attending the Atletico Madrid match in the Champions League. Regarding the meeting, Wacker’s sports director, Peter Stoger, said: “It was about us having discussions about how we can continue to develop cooperation between the clubs. You look for win-win situations where everyone benefits. And Celtic are really very interested in the partnership. There’s a good chance we can expand the partnership, but it won’t happen overnight.”

Currently, young Celtic duo Matthew Anderson and Tobi Oluwayemi are on loan at the club. They were the first two bhoys to make moves out to Austria, and they certainly won’t be the last.

As Stoger claims, the partnership will have plus points for both parties because Wacker receives players of quality and Celtic’s youngsters get to develop. It hasn’t been going for long, but both clubs seem committed and it will be interesting to see where it can blossom from here.
