BRENDAN RODGERS joked about Kieran Tierney after the player nearly scored at Ibrox on Saturday.

The Celtic daft defender pulled a shot just wide during the game and the Irishman admitted he doesn’t know what would’ve happened if it had gone in:

“I don’t know what he would have done if he had scored at the weekend.

“Kieran came close with a shot across the goal. I wouldn’t like to see him score against Rangers – he would be on a booking!” the manager joked

There will come a day where this will surely happen with Kieran Tierney and the Celtic fans entering a euphoric state which they may never come out of.

The Celtic manager was full of praise for his first choice left-back

“He’s old school in terms of his quality and determination. He works hard every single day and he’s a good boy.

“In fact, Kieran doesn’t know how good he is, which is nice. He has no ego and comes in every day and just gets on with it.”
