Brendan Rodgers has dismissed recent claims that Celtic’s dominance has become “tedious,” insisting such comments show a lack of understanding about the relentless work behind the club’s sustained success.

An article this week branded Celtic’s latest title charge as boring, but Rodgers was quick to defend the effort and mentality that has brought the club to the brink of its 55th league title.
Celtic can wrap up their 13th championship in 14 seasons, and fourth in a row, if they avoid defeat against Dundee United at Tannadice on Saturday.
Rodgers, who has already secured three league titles in his two spells as manager, underlined the focus and drive that fuels the team’s consistency at the top of Scottish football.
The Celtic manager told the press: “You see reports around boring Celtic winning, and this and that. People don’t actually understand what goes into being that consistent to win. From the outside looking in, it can maybe feel like that.
“The work that goes on here both on and off the park at Celtic Football Club from so many people from the very top – Dermot (Desmond) who has experience, knowledge and influence to manage everything and see it from a second position as such and his intellect and what he brings from the very top is so important. You get that right throughout the club.
“That then moves to me in terms of looking after the performance. From that, you know your responsibility as a manager here. You have to drive your players to deal with the expectations of our supporters which we cherish, because that all pushes you to the best you can.
“To live with all of that and deal with all of that 24 hours a day, seven days a week, that is a challenge. For the players to come through that challenge and be successful with it is what you would want from your club.
“So, on top of that, you have got to do it consistently, and the consistency is there. It is not an easy thing, this job managing this club and the players to play for this club.
“It really isn’t easy, and that is why I tip my hat when I am here, as I see how hard the guys work to get those rewards, and that makes me very pleased.”
Some sections of the media love to deflect and downplay Celtic’s success, it happens every year.
When they call Celtic winning a treble ‘tedious’, it’s not an actual opinion that they fully believe in, it’s just something that they write down and gaslight themselves into believing, almost a coping mechanism.
With the league within touching distance, Rodgers and his players are once again silencing the doubters the best way they know how — by winning.
Celtic will then come back next season and set out to defend the trophies they win this year, which will hopefully be a treble.
