With the January transfer window firmly underway, it is expected that Celtic get some fresh blood through the door. The Bhoys will likely see several departures this month but similarly, those within the club will be eager for a few arrivals.
Manager Brendan Rodgers is in the same camp, and he believes his side can get some business done early doors: “The club will do everything they can to support what we need, and what the team needs”, he said (STV Sport). “So there’s lots of work going on in the background and I’m pretty sure in this early period of the month we can get a bit of joy and get one or two in.”

In the team, there are a few positions that could do with strengthening. Signing a player, though, is no mean feat.
Rodgers knows all about that having missed out on Declan Rice during his maiden spell as Hoops gaffer. The Irishman will hope for no near misses of that ilk in future, and that his club can get business done promptly.
The player, however, has to be the right fit and one that is going to add something to the team. There is no point in signing players for the sake of it, which is perhaps something Celtic were guilty of in the summer.
