James Forrest, the Celtic winger, has been assured of his future at the club by the newly appointed manager, Brendan Rodgers.

Despite struggling for game time under former boss Ange Postecoglou, Forrest has been told that he fits into Rodgers’ plans for the team.
Forrest, 31, found himself behind players such as Jota and Daizen Maeda in the pecking order under Postecoglou.
Liel Abada was also preferred over Forrest. However, Rodgers believes that Forrest’s fitness levels and ability to meet the demands of his game plan will be key to his role in the team.
Forrest had a successful stint under Rodgers during his first term at Parkhead, with the manager significantly contributing to his development as a player. Rodgers believes that Forrest still has a lot to offer and can fit into his system once again.
Brendan Rodgers said: [Football Scotland]
“Yes. James is at the stage of his career where it’s slightly different. For him, it’s all about staying fit now.
“He was such an important player in the squad last time and he was a great guy to work with. I’m looking forward to seeing him again.
“It’s been a challenge for him, but I’ve seen snippets of him where, when he’s fit and ready, he is a fantastic player for Celtic.”
Forrest’s future at Celtic had been uncertain due to his limited game time last season. However, with Rodgers’ assurance, it seems that the winger will have a significant role to play in the team moving forward. Rodgers got the best out of the winger in his last stint, and will be hoping to do the same as he enters the final years of his career.
