BRENDAN Rodgers is enthusiastic about the progress of Yang Hyun-Jun especially after his standout performance against Aberdeen.

Yang’s adaptation to the team and his increasing understanding off the pitch are aspects Rodgers believes will contribute significantly to the player’s growth.
the K-League Young Player of the Year, who was signed from Gangwon for over £2 million, has showcased his potential every time he’s been on the pitch but Sunday saw the winger bag his first goal in the Hoops in Celtic’s 6-0 victory.
With key players like Daizen Maeda and Liel Abada sidelined due to injuries, Yang’s contributions become even more critical for the team.
Rodgers highlighted Yang’s commitment to improving his game and his efforts to enhance his English skills.
The manager also mentioned that he personally engages with players like Yang, discussing their game and ensuring they understand the expectations and systems. For situations where absolute clarity is required, a translator is brought in, ensuring that language barriers do not hinder the player’s development or understanding of their role.
The Celtic boss told RecordSport:
“Like everything, it’s about what you put into it. He’ll sit with the coaches, me and talk around his game and acknowledge how hard he works.
“He’s come from a different culture, halfway across the world and it takes time. The players do their lessons and English classes, so eventually they’ll get the language.
“If ever I need to have clarity and be really clear so they understand we bring in the translator so everything is understood. The club is great with that because these boys can be easily left to just come in and have nothing, just be expected to get on with it and learn English. But it’s not as easy as that, so they have that support.”
