BRENDAN RODGERS is tired and bored at Celtic, it’s there for all to see. Tired and bored of having to repeat himself when it comes to addressing his own future.
Since the start of this season, we have seen a number of EPL fanboys telling us Rodgers will scarper back to the English Premier League the first chance he gets. Never mind that he was sounded out about the West Ham job and the London got a swift ‘thanks, but no thanks’.
We had Michael Owen this week saying Rodgers will head back at the end of this season because he’ll get bored of winning. Let that sink in – bored of winning!
Brendan Rodgers continues to hammer home Celtic Park is the place he wants to be and the way in which he speaks about the club is not dissimilar to the excitement you see from a child on Christmas eve.
The Celtic manager knows the money is plentiful down south but the grass is not greener.
“I could leave Celtic, and maybe double or triple my wages and go elsewhere – but it wouldn’t guarantee me happiness.” Rodgers explained.
Rodgers is on a big contract at Celtic and rightfully so, having steered the club twice now to the Champions League Group Stage – he has earned his crust.
He has had plenty of time in English football and there may be a time when the manager revisits it, but right now, and for the foreseeable future he is Celtic.
