This approach is part of Rodgers’ commitment to his three-year deal with Celtic, wherein he has pledged not to make abrupt exits and to focus on sustainable success.

The manager believes in giving academy players the space and opportunities they need to flourish and make their mark in the senior team. He said: [Celtic TV]

“I want to be here for a period of time, as long as, of course, I’m successful. So, I want to also create an opportunity for young players to come through here. You know, everyone talks about signings and bringing people in, and I always say you might have someone within your Academy, but you need to have the space for those players to flourish and develop.”

Rodgers’ commitment to this approach is evident in the recent integration of academy players like Daniel Kelly and Rocco Vata into the first team. Kelly, who recently got minutes with the senior side, and Vata, currently in talks over a new contract, both missed the B Team’s trip to Southampton to train with the main squad.

In addition to focusing on internal talent, Celtic has been strategic in loaning out several academy players to gain first-team experience elsewhere. Kenzie Carse, Ben Summers, Matthew Anderson, Ben McPherson, Bosun Lawal, and Tobi Oluwayemi are among those who have been sent out on loan. These moves are designed to aid their development, providing them with a chance to experience competitive football and return to Celtic more seasoned and ready for higher responsibilities.
