Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has opened up about his relationship with club CEO Michael Nicholson, after expressing past frustrations with transfer windows.

Rodgers has consistently talked about the need for “experience and quality” within the squad, a requirement he feels is crucial for Celtic to elevate their performance, especially in European competitions.
With a significant influx of Champions League funds anticipated, alongside potential revenue from player sales, the upcoming summer transfer window holds particular importance for Celtic. Rodgers has outlined a clear vision for the type of enhancements needed within the team, aiming to ensure the club is well-prepared to compete on a broader stage.
Responding to questions about whether he and the club’s board, led by Nicholson, are aligned in their strategic outlook, Rodgers expressed a positive relationship and substantial support from the club’s management. “Every season has to be a learning season on and off the pitch. I’ve gained nothing but support from Michael and the people here,” Rodgers stated, quoted by The Sun.
“But going forward, the football strategy is very much there in terms of what it is we want to bring in.
“It’s not about numbers, it’s about increasing the quality of the squad. But that’s for later on, we still have a massive job to do over the next three games.”
While the summer window looms as a significant opportunity for restructuring and strengthening, Rodgers remains focused on the immediate challenge, with three critical games left in the season. That all starts with a trip to Kilmarnock on Wednesday night.
