Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Celtic will remain active in the transfer market following the departure of Greg Taylor.
The Irishman has already overseen the arrivals of Kieran Tierney, Ross Doohan, Benjamin Nygren, and Callum Osmand this summer, but insists more business is on the horizon.

His departure opens the door for Tierney’s return to left-back, but Rodgers is keen to further improve the squad ahead of the new campaign.
He said: (Celtic TV), “We’re not needing a major overhaul of the squad, but freshness is so important. Some of these guys here have been here a long time, and it’s so important that even in a winning squad, you refresh that and reset the competition in the squad.
“We’ve done some really good business up until now. I see us doing more, and to get us set up for what will hopefully be a really exciting season.”
One clear area Celtic will need to address is providing immediate back-up to Kieran Tierney. The Scotland international has struggled with injuries over recent seasons, and relying on him as the sole option at left-back would be a risk.
A capable deputy who can step in without disrupting the team’s rhythm is essential if the squad is to remain stable over the long campaign.
In the striking department, Celtic are still searching for a replacement for Kyogo , who departed for Rennes in January. His exit left a significant gap through the middle, both in terms of movement and finishing.
Brendan Rodgers admitted he had pushed for a replacement in the January window, but none was brought in before the deadline.
That decision has left Celtic light up top, with the burden falling on players who are either out of position or not yet at the required level.
Finding a striker who can lead the line effectively, press from the front, and contribute goals regularly remains a top priority. A proper focal point in attack will be vital as Celtic gear up for another demanding domestic and European campaign.
The wide areas also require bolstering. Jota’s long-term injury has left a noticeable gap in attacking depth on the wings. Another winger capable of beating defenders and providing consistent end product would give Rodgers greater tactical flexibility, particularly in tight domestic fixtures and in Europe.

In midfield, Rodgers is likely to look for two additions. One would offer defensive strength and protect the back four, especially important if the full-backs are pushing high. The other would bring attacking quality, filling the creative role left by Matt O’Riley, who departed last this summer.
At centre-back, a commanding figure is still needed to start every week. Reports suggest Hayato Inamura is close to finalising a move, and if confirmed, his arrival could be a step towards addressing that need.
