Brendan Rodgers has provided an update on Daizen Maeda’s fitness, suggesting the winger could return for Celtic’s match against Hibs.

Maeda, who sustained an injury during a pre-season game against Chelsea, missed Celtic’s season opener due to significant bruising but has made progress in his recovery.
As Celtic prepare for their first away game of the season in Edinburgh, Rodgers said that Maeda was “okay” to Celtic TV, suggesting that the Japanese winger could be in line for some minutes.
The timing is crucial as Celtic faces a challenging fixture against a strong Hibs side, coached by David Gray. This match will serve as a precursor to another encounter between the two teams, with Hibs set to visit Glasgow next weekend for a League Cup clash.
First up is the league clash though, with kick-off in the capital 12.30.
Maeda’s return could provide a significant boost for Celtic as they navigate this busy schedule.
