Brendan Rodgers Confirms Reasoning Behind Luis Palma Absence

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers addressed the omission of Luis Palma from this afternoon’s squad to face Hibernian.

Palma’s absence was a surprise, but despite this, Celtic cruised to a 2-0 win at Easter Road with goals from Nicolas Kuhn and Callum McGregor.

Rodgers said: (Glasgow World), “Palma, 10 days to a couple of weeks. I think when you watch the challenge back, it was a really nasty injury for him.

“He did amazing to play on when you see the rotation in his ankle. He is still a bit of time away.”

11th August 2024; Easter Road, Edinburgh, Scotland: Scottish Premiership Football, Hibernian versus Celtic; Celtic Manager Brendan Rodgers arrives for the match

Rodgers clearly has sympathy for Palma, who suffered an injury setback last Sunday against Kilmarnock and still managed to play on.

Palma will be missed for his keen eye for goal, but hopefully the Honduran can recover as quickly and safely as possible.

He has proven to be a vital member of the squad, capable of delivering big moments and crucial goals.
