Celtic’s home form in the Scottish Premiership this season has been near impenetrable, with only two goals conceded in 12 matches at Celtic Park.

Remarkably, both of those goals came in a single game against Aberdeen back in October.
The Dons stunned the Hoops that evening by coming from 2-0 down to draw 2-2—the only side to breach Kasper Schmeichel’s net at Parkhead in the league this term.
With Aberdeen set to visit again, Brendan Rodgers was asked about the record and how much importance he places on defensive solidity at home. [Celtic TV]
“Yes, pressing for me is everything. That’s the starting point and that’s where everything else comes from. So, our ability to press the game from the top of the field is key in our work and that defensive record is a great credit to the team.
“People will look at the back four and goalkeeper naturally, of course, because they are those last points of our defence as such. But our pressing and defensive mentality, is the foundation for us to play the football that we want to play. At home on that day, we conceded two disappointing goals. Other than that, I can’t really complain.”
The Hoops will be aiming to continue their incredible defensive run when Aberdeen return to Parkhead, with Rodgers keen to ensure lightning doesn’t strike twice.
They’re looking to get back to winning ways after falling to defeat against Hibs at the weekend. The Hoops were miles off it in the first half but responded well in the second, with Brendan Rodgers’ changes making the difference.
It’s the last midweek game until the split, with 11 games left of the season. 13 points clear, the Hoops are pushing for their fourth title in a row, wrapping it up as early as they can and hoping to maintain a double-digit lead over their rivals in second.
