The 23-year-old Dane, who recently swept Celtic’s Player of the Year awards, is reportedly in discussions with two top six Premier League teams.

Earlier this year, significant interest from European clubs like Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan emerged, with Atletico even placing a bid for O’Riley, which Celtic rejected. This continuous interest in O’Riley underscores his exceptional performance and growth at Celtic.

Speaking about the transfer rumours via Celtic TV, Rodgers explained Celtic’s stable position regarding player sales. “We don’t have to sell; we’re not in a position to do that. But of course, if something comes in, then like it happens at Celtic, it’ll always be looked at. But there’s not a need to sell.

Rodgers praised O’Riley’s professionalism and development as a key player. “Matt’s had an absolutely brilliant season for us, and it’s a great testament to his professionalism and how he’s developed as a football player,” he stated.

“If you’ve done well and you’re at a club with this status and pressure, then naturally the attention will come. But it’s not something I lose sleep about.”

The reality is that O’Riley will be attracting a lot of interest this summer, but after signing a new deal this season, Celtic are in a good position as they brace for bids. And, if there are multiple teams in for the player, which seems like a good possibility, it could spark a bidding war for the player.
