Brendan Rdogers Responds to Matt O’Riley Transfer Speculation

Amidst the swirling transfer rumours, Celtic’s manager Brendan Rodgers has provided a reassuring update on midfielder Matt O’Riley’s situation at the club. In a recent press conference, Rodgers addressed the speculations surrounding O’Riley, emphasising the player’s happiness and commitment to Celtic.

Rodgers stated on Celtic TV, “I see the likes of Matt, he’s really, really happy here. He’s on a new deal, he’s really progressed. He’s in double figures now with his goals and assists. So, for him as a young player, who I know is a brilliant professional, all he wants to do is improve and he can see the improvement here.”

Rodgers further reinforced the club’s stance on not being under any pressure to sell their key assets. He underscored Celtic’s strong financial position and long-term plans, hinting at a stable future for O’Riley at the club.

While acknowledging the nature of speculation in football, the Celtic manager’s comments offer a clear picture of O’Riley’s current status at Celtic. The young midfielder’s development and contributions to the team appear to be well recognised, with a strong indication that his future, at least for now, remains firmly at Celtic Park.

Matt could break Celtic’s transfer fee when he does eventually leave the club, but right now, there is no interest from Celtic’s side to part with their star midfielder.
