Contrary to reports in HeraldSport earlier today that the Turnbull deal was almost over the line RecordSport are now running with the story the player has turned down a contract offer from the club.
The newspaper claims Celtic have put terms down to Turnbull and his representatives in line with the club wage structure but the deal being offered has been knocked back.
After HeraldSports made the claim the deal was almost there this counterclaim has come out of nowhere. It seems as if people may have been treating Turnbull’s contract negotiations as a formality.
RecordSport are also claiming the player’s reps are now touting the player down south for a move.
A bid was accepted for the player this week after Motherwell made their fands aware the fee from Turnbull’s transfer would see the club become more stable for the next few years.
With the conflicting reports today, we aren’t quite sure what’s going to happen after it initially looking like a deal could have been signed today.
