CELTIC DEFENDER Dedryk Boyata has been ruled out for three months after a scan revealed the true extent of his injury.
The rejuvenated Boyata enjoyed a great second half of the season under Brendan Rodgers, solid at the back and chipping in with some vital goals.
The news that he will not be available for any of the Champions League qualifiers is a big blow to the team.
The Belgian is understandably gutted about the knee injury and is determined to get back as soon as possible.
However, this will give Erik Sviatchenko his chance to win his place back that Boyata took from him back in January.
