This evening Scottish Championship side Dundee announced the signing of striker Jason Cummings who is of course not only a good player but also a box office character in the world that is Scottish Football.
It seems to most like a good deal for the Dens side, however from a Celtic point of view it could go on to hinder the progress of one of the club’s youngsters.
We are delighted to announce the signing of Jason Cummings on a deal until the summer of 2022 #thedee

This season, Jonathan Afolabi finds himself out on loan with James McPake’s side who picked him up on a season-long loan in the summer.
So far in this campaign, he has played 11 times, scoring three goals with a lot of his appearances coming off the bench. This is due to both the form of fellow striker Osman Sow at times and also some injury problems.
In recent weeks, the Irishman was starting to see more minutes and even scored some crucial goals in the win against Hearts and a last-minute equaliser to save Dundee’s Scottish Cup hopes and embarrassment against Bonnyrigg Rose.
You can’t help but feel a signing like Cummings in the Championship may push Afolabi down the pecking order but fingers crossed eh can show us and Dundee what he can do.
